How to wear a monochromatic outfit

The word “monochromatic” breaks down into two pieces: “mono” meaning single and “chromatic” meaning color. So a monochromatic outfit would consist of pieces of one color put together in 1 outfit; like I did today.

This doesn’t mean that you would only wear solid black or solid red from head to toe. No, the joy of a monochromatic outfit is wearing different shades and tints of the same color. My coat is slightly lighter than the rest of the look.

Got this all blue look from De Bijenkorf! It’ a luxury departmentstore in Amsterdam. They have over 2000 brands and one day delivery! So when you order today, it will be delivered tomorrow! I always get all my looks from their webshop.

Texture is an important element when putting together monochromatic looks like these. If your monochromatic outfit were comprised of the same fabric throughout, it would likely come off looking dull! In my look the faux fur is adding interest and depth.

And don’t forget your shoes and bag when it comes to texture! The Valentino bag is made from a stunning velvet with golden studs and complements the other fabrics very well. I am currently obsessed with this bag. Valentino has the cutest styles for fall/winter!

How addicted are you about designer bags? My friends and I talk about it all the time and we compiled 5 signs that tell if you’re addicted:

1. You have a dream bag list

When you spot the perfect designer bag on insta or on a blog, you immediately put it on your list of dreams bags. The only problem of this list is, that it contains more designer bags than you could ever afford. However you keep on adding more designer bags to your list, woops!

What’s on your wishlist? On mine a Kelly bag in any bright green with silver hardware… oh dear god…

2. Your bags have a special spot in your dressing room

Literally all your precious bags are under 24/7 protection of their dustbags and have a special spot in your dressing room. They’re lined up like in a museum. Mine even got a special closet! Have you seen the youtube video about it?

3. Brand expert

You can simply glance at any photo fore mere seconds and immediately name the designer and the price of the bag they are wearing and you automatically do this in your head all the time. You spot all the fakes too! I just can’t help it, I became such an expert especially in Hermès and Chanel over the years.

4. You have definitely shed some tears when one of your bags got spoilt

You just can’t handle it when one of your bags loses its colour. It drives you crazy to see spots or a scratch on your classic flap. Luckily I discovered Claires Handbag Care, she saved some of my favorite bags already like my Chanel medium in pink who suffered from corner wear…

5. Now you’ve had fancy leather you can’t go back

Now that you got used to the perfect quality of your designer bag it’s hard to go back to enjoying things that are merely average. You won’t buy that bag that looked so cute like 10 years ago, anymore just because that quality isn’t as good as the quality of your beloved Birkin, 2.55 or LV.
